This is a blog for me to post and reblog pictures of rats, because I'm hopelessly in love with them and I want to keep them all filed in one neat little url.
Everything is queued up and distributed evenly throughout the day to avoid spamming your dashes.
(I've never actually owned rats, so asking me for rat advice is about as effective as trying to learn Portuguese from a Chinese speaker.)

One of my favorite photos of two of my babies, Freyja and Luna were snug into their blankie and snuggling! I didn’t want to disturb them by trying to fit my camera into their cage door and then adjust the lens, so I took this through the bars, which is what the bold stripes are. Bar interference aside, I love this photo. It’s a perfect example of rattie affection!
Freyja is the bigger albino to the left, and the smaller, tan hooded rat is Luna <3

While working on Animal Crossdressing, an interesting side project materialized. The pet snake that I was working with had befriended a rat that was initially given to her to eat. They had been cohabitating for weeks at the point when I met them (the snake had eaten other rats, but wouldn’t touch this one). The animals were completely comfortable with one another and I produced a series of photographs that documents their interaction. This idealized “friendship” was easy to embrace and the images aimed to place the viewer in an interesting double bind, where this highly unnatural state of affairs was in fact whole-heartedly embraced and sentimentally celebrated.
